    International Retirement Benefits Analyst

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
    • Evaluating pension contribution targets internationally; gathering and evaluating pension programs; leading implementation or change in plans; and contributing to the Financial Education of all staff internationally.
    • Explains retirement benefit plan policies, procedures, and legal requirements to employees and beneficiaries.
    • Conducts retirement and benefits-related calculations and analysis including vesting, withdrawal of contributions, and deferred retirement.
    • Researches and recommends appropriate benefits plans and services based on data analysis.
    • Conducts group benefits presentations and/or individual interviews with employees regarding retirement plans and financial education.
    • Acquires and distributes relevant information and documentation to plan participants and beneficiaries.
    • Schedules and maintains information from international committee meetings.
    • Develops and maintains records of participants and beneficiaries including active, and separated members.
    • Serves as a liaison between Trustees, Plan Administrators, beneficiaries, and participants.
    • Handles or facilitates requests for contribution adjustments, refunds, and other administrative changes.
    • Coordinates with actuaries, plan administrators, accountants, and other professionals to provide verified and compiled data for administration of benefits.
    • Ensures retirement plans are administered in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
    • Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory changes, trends, and other developments affecting retirement benefits.
    • Interprets internal/external organizational challenges and recommends practices to improve programs, processes or services
    • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
    • Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions
    • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to clearly explain retirement plan options in easily understood terms.
    • Excellent knowledge of Finance.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and agency interpretations or opinions related to retirement benefits.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel or related software.
    • Fluent in English.

    Education And Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
    • At least five years of experience with retirement, insurance benefits, financial planning, or actuarial services required.
    • Ten years of relevant experience working in this or related field.

    Licenses And Certifications

    • Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.

    Physical Requirements

    • International Travel required 30% of time.
    • Working on a computer.
    • Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    • Residing in one of Compassion’s countries with a legal entity within AFR, ASR, LAC regions.
