    Inventory Controller

    Job location: Ruiru, Kiambu

    Industry: Manufacturing 

    Job Summary

    To ensure proper management of all inventories and ensure that correct physical stocks are reported and always reconciled with the system Inventory balances.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Assist to Develop, implement and enforce inventory policies, procedures, adopt appropriate technology, SAP workflows and internal controls
    2. Diagnose and resolve causes of inventory variances/discrepancies
    3. Collate, document and report all variances reported during receipt of goods from suppliers/ transfers / deliveries / returns and ensure proper adjustments are done after approval by finance manager
    4. Perform weekly stock reconciliations of physical counts against system for all categories of locations and highlight variances to the management
    5. Oversee and coordinate physical inventory counts of goods (weekly and surprise counts) for all locations along with regular inspections to identify discrepancies or ways to improve inventory management
    6. Regular review and reporting on Inventory Ageing analysis report and taking appropriate/recommended actions
    7. Handle and document approved non-routine inventory transactions i.e. stock adjustments
    8. Monitor all inventory related transactions on the SAP to ensure proper recording, completion and clean-up of incomplete transactions i.e. transfer orders, purchase orders and sales orders/return orders
    9. Manage the monthly financial close for stock balances
    10. Assist with the preparation of schedules and/or reports with stock take team.
    11. Manage and control of non-stock items in the warehouses .
    12. Be the point of liason with external auditors in connection with the audit of the annual financial statements

    Qualifications

    1. Degree in business related studies, Finance and or Accounting
    2. CPA II
    3. Over 3 years of experience in Inventory control in a manufacturing firm and Good understanding of stock related operational and control requirements
    4. Smart and sharp in problem-solving and analytical skills
    5. Ability to prioritize and work on own initiative
    6. Skilled in analysing and solving stock discrepancies in the shortest time and way possible.
    7. Skilled in using computer and finance application software and Excellent IT skills.
    8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contracted in the course of work
    10. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    11. Knowledge of local laws, regulations and policies governing inventory.
    12. Ability to organize documents, and information from multiple sources.
    13. Ability to effectively write reports, maintain documentation, and complete required forms.
