    IT Assistant

    Responsibilities

    GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Under the authority of the IT Expert, the incumbents must perform the following tasks:

    1. Coordinate IT purchases with the logistics team. Identify IT suppliers and prepare adapt specifications.
    2. Verify and validate IT deliveries.
    3. Assist the IT expert in the preparation, installation, and operation of the computer resources (server, laptops, printers, office internet and network). Proceed with the de-installation at end of mission.
    4. Configure and install newly delivered equipment (laptops, printers, phones, and any
    5. related IT equipment for the mission).
    6. Ensure the IT security of the mission (anti-virus, access control, passwords, etc.).
    7. Provide technical assistance to the member of the mission, both in the office and remotely.
    8. Manage and maintain the IT stock and inventory.
    9. Assist the IT Expert and Logistics Expert during observer briefings (presentations,
    10. practical exercises, use of computers, tablets, telecom equipment).
    11. Support to Statistician and Press and Media experts for the treatment of observation
    12. questionnaires, the installation and operations of media monitoring systems, social networks, mission web platform).
    13. Perform any other tasks as may be required

    Education:

    • Possesses an adequate higher education diploma or training and relevant work experience in computer sciences.

    Method of Application

    Applicants must be available from 21 June 2022 to 09 October 2022 (depending on the role and the election calendar)

    • Flexibility required. Work is expected on occasions both in the evening and weekends.
    • Place of work is Nairobi and, for some positions, different postings around the country.
