As a member of the Information Technology (IT) management team, the Business partner, is the ICT liaison for specific business areas within the bank. An IT business partner understands the business processes in use and the key to this role is reducing barriers between the business and ICT.
The role holder understands and documents the desired business outcome of a service, working with ICT colleagues to establish if the business need can be achieved using an existing service offering or if a new or changed service must be created. The coordination also extends to partners/vendors who provide IT services and for the purpose of providing feedback and articulating the current position to across the business units, that is, Corporate, Retail, Asset Finance, Operations, etc.
The key objective of this role among other things is to ensure that, IT in conjunction with the Head of Service Management have clear overview of the overall business needs across the bank regionally and can prioritize resources to address the issues, reducing overall TAT for users and customers.
