IT Support Intern at Centum

Job Brief

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Support (End user, Systems/Applications and Infrastructure)

a. Install and configure computer systems, printers, telephones etc.

b. Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks;

c. Set up new users in Microsoft Windows Active Directory and LDAP;

d. Set up new user mail accounts;

e. Configure user rights for various applications;

f.  Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve

i. Hardware/software faults;

ii.Replace parts as required;

g. Provide support, including procedural, documentation;

h. Follow procedures and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;

a. Enhance the ICT disaster recovery plan and uphold the ICT Information security policy

j.  Ensure backup of all our servers, databases and website in a timely manner

k. Run network applications to support systems and users;

l.  Support systems and applications management;

m. Website management and content updates;

n. Respond within agreed time limits to incidents;

n. Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);

o. Prioritize and manage several open cases at one time;

p. Rapidly establish a good working relationship with other professionals in order to make necessary repairs;

q. Test and evaluate new technology.

1. Project Management

a. Deliver projects within set timelines, scope and quality.

b. Develop and deliver internal and client-facing program reviews, status reports, performance reports and other communications

c. Ensure compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.

d. Ensure deliverables meet or exceed the customer’s expectations and are submitted according to schedule

e. Identify and execute on opportunities for process improvements

Minimum Qualifications

• BSc. Computer Science, IT or any IT related degree.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
• Analytical and inquisitive, with excellent attention to detail
• Innovative and creative, with a concise, precise and effective approach to problem solving
• Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate brilliant ideas founded on rock-solid strategic thinking
• Credible, confident and articulate, with excellent communication and presentation skills and the gravitas to deliver ideas clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
• Rapidly establish a good working relationships with colleagues
• Reliable, flexible and cooperative
• Diplomatic and tactful
