Junior Accountant at Xolo Investment Ltd

• Xolo Energy Ltd is a growing energy and distribution company building a technology-enabled network of fuel stations and related businesses across Kenya and the wider East African region.
• We are looking for a young, disciplined and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and take responsibility for the company's day-to-day accounting and financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
• Prepare bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with cash-flow monitoring and budgeting.
• Handle invoicing, receipts and payment documentation.
• Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records.
• Assist with eTIMS, VAT, PAYE, withholding tax and other statutory requirements.
• Monitor transactions across Xolo's business operations and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Support preparation of financial information required by banks, suppliers and management.
• Work closely with management to improve financial controls and reporting systems.
• Assist with audits and other financial reviews when required.

Requirements

• CPA qualification or CPA finalist is required.
• At least 1 year of relevant accounting work experience.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Good understanding of Kenyan accounting and taxation requirements.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems will be an advantage.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
