JOB PURPOSE:
KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP) is one of the leading research centres in Africa. The Programme is hosted within the Centre for Geographic Medicine Research Coast (CGMRC) and engages in a wide range of research on the main causes of ill health in Africa. This position is supported by the BOHEMIA consortium (Broad One-Health Endectocide-based Malaria Intervention in Africa) to evaluate the use of ivermectin mass drug administration for malaria vector control.
We seek to appoint a community liaison officer II (CLO) who will plan, implement, and evaluate the BOHEMIA project community and key stakeholder engagement activities at the county (Kwale), sub county and national levels. The post holder will work within the existing KWTRP Community Liaison Group (CLG). The appointee is expected to facilitate awareness of the project at the community and stakeholder level, be able to monitor and address misinformation, evaluate appropriate communication channels and delivery of key messages. The CLO II should be able to adapt to audiences of diverse backgrounds and use creative approaches if necessary. We are looking for a young motivated and energetic Kenyan graduate with experience of post-university employment/internship.
