Senior Production Officer-Value Addition at Kenya Meat Commission

JOB GRADE - KMC 5

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Implementing policies, strategies, guidelines and procedures on production;
• Implementing food Safety Systems and adhering to all qualify aspects of production;
• Providing support in the design of Standard Operating Procedures;
• Processing of value addition livestock products;
• Undertaking the production processes of slaughter, by product, order preparation, canning and value addition;
• Taking inventory on stock to guard against overstocking/understocking;
• Providing support in the design of work-measurement techniques to monitor work performance per employee; and
• Adhering to standard operating procedures and production work intstructions.

Personal Specifications:

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

• Served in the grade of Production Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in a manufacturing Company for a minimum period four (4) years.
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:  Food Science and Technology, Nutrition, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer application skills;
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the constitution; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
