 Job Specifications

• An officer at this level will work under the supervision of a senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

• Participating in sortingHPTs and storing themappropriately as perthe manufacturertemperature requirements.
• Implementing work protocols and operating procedures applicable to their activities;
• Implementing Biosafety biosecurity framework;
• Undertaking analytical waste disinfection and disposal;
• labeling of reagents, Chemicals& equipment;
• Implement the Laboratory’s Quality Management System;
• Implement the cleaning protocol;
• Assistin carrying outspecialized cleaning procedures;
• implementing section plans and work plans;
• Labeling of reagents, Chemicals& equipment;
• Checking the stock outs of the reagent on the bench site;
• Ensuring the chemical reagents are stored in theirrespective cabinets;
• Managing of glassware in the Laboratory;
• Ensuring on site availability of equipment SOP’s and
• Assisting in carrying out physicalstock takesforlaboratory inventory
• Participating in surveysincluding Post market Surveillances of HPTs

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Cumulative service period ofsix (6) yearsthree (3) of which should have been in the grade of Laboratory Technologist II or in a comparable position;
•  Diploma in Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
•  Proficiency in computer applications
