    Laboratory Technologist - Kisumu

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform laboratory tests, including HIV testing and other diagnostic assays per study protocol.
    • Prepare and process samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
    • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
    • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and infection control measures.
    • Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests, results, and inventory.
    • Support the research team by conducting laboratory tests for study participants and ensuring data integrity.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory protocols and procedures.
    • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain laboratory standards.

    Vacancy Requirements:

    • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.    Mandatory
    • Registered with the regulatory Board-KMLLTB.    Mandatory
    • Additional training in HIV testing or molecular diagnostics is an advantage.    Added Advantage
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a laboratory technologist, preferably in a clinical or research setting.    Mandatory
    •  Familiarity with Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) and research protocols is a plus.    Mandatory
    • Strong technical skills in laboratory testing and equipment operation.    Mandatory
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in sample processing and data recording.    Mandatory
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.    Mandatory
    • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data management software.    Mandatory
    • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and infection control measures.    Mandatory
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.    Mandatory
    • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.    Mandatory
