Lead Engineer Full-stack at Sokowatch

You should be self-driven and motivated with the desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven agile environment with varied responsibilities and also have to provide technical leadership and mentoring to a small team of highly talented and motivated engineers to deliver these solutions with the highest quality.

Locations: Bangalore, India or Nairobi, Kenya

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Designing and building large components or multiple services.
2. Serve as a technical lead on our most demanding, cross-functional projects.
3. Ability to clearly communicate high-level strategy and technical details effectively across disciplines, locations, and organizations, including senior leadership.
4. Ensure the quality of architecture and design of systems.
5. Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
6. Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations.
7. Leverage knowledge of internal and industry in design decisions.
8. Mentor other engineers, define our technical culture and help build a fast-growing team, Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
9. Proven team leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done

Requirements:

1. 8+ years prior experience in software product development.
2. 3+ years prior experience in lead or architect, or a similar role.
3. Masters / Degree in Computer Science or Related Field from premier institutes.

Must have:

1. 5+ years of experience building microservices
2. Experience in Object-oriented design and programming
3. Strong experience in architecting and building distributed systems
4. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance
5. Strong knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS/Google Cloud/Azure
6. Proficient with RDBMS & NoSQL Databases
7. Strong knowledge of data stores, database design, data modeling, and SQL queries.
8. Strong knowledge of one or more big data processing stacks
9. Enforcing excellent code quality
10. Experience working on one or more large scale applications/platforms
11. Driving Non-Functional Requirements
12. Should be proficient in Server Side (Java/Linux/J2EE) technologies
13. Experience in handling complex production issues

Good to have:

1. Knowledge of B2B & B2C retail eCommerce
2. Experience in designing and implementing enterprise systems using iPaaS or ESB tools like (MuleSoft, Celigo, Boomi, etc)
3. Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, consumer-facing web applications.
4. DevOps mindset.
5. Experience in data science is plus
6. Experience in Spring boot or any good framework.
