    The University of Embu (UoEm) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi via a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011 by His Excellency the President. EUC is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College which started in 1947 as an agricultural training school and was later renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture in 1968. In 1990, it was upgraded to be Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College whose mandate was to develop and implement short management and technical courses, and offer research and consultancy services to enhance performance in the agricultural sector.

    Lecturer - School of Nursing (Mental Health/Psychiatry)

    Job Summary

    The University of Embu (UoEm) is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Lecturer - School of Nursing (Mental Health/Psychiatry).

    Responsibilities

    Minimum Requirements:

    Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree in the relevant area of specialty.

    In addition, applicants must:

    • Have a Master’s degree in addition to a first degree from a recognized University in the relevant field
    • Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops
    • Show evidence of continued research. Those who have university teaching experience and have published in refereed journals will have an added advantage
    • Master of Science Degree in Nursing or its equivalent in the relevant areas who have three (3) years University teaching experience and have at least 24 publication points, 16 of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals

    Method of Application

     Open the University of Embu website; www.embuni.ac.ke, choose the job application portal and fill in your details as guided; and

    Send one (1) hard copyof the application letter, accompanied by detailed curriculum vitae (signed  on  all  pages),copies  of certifiedacademic  and  professional  certificates, National  ID  card,  current  payslip  (if  any)  and  other  relevant  testimonials. 

    Provide  your mobile numbers,email address and names of three (3) referees.

    The referees should send their recommendation letters directly to the undersigned in a sealed envelope.

    Note:

    Applicants who do not submit one (1) hard copy of the application package will not be considered.

    An  application  package (with  job  reference  number  clearly  marked  on  the  envelope)should reach the undersigned not later than Friday,4thSeptember, 2020.
