Legal and Regulatory Compliance Consultant Trainer at Indepth Research Services (IRES)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Legal and Regulatory Compliance Consultant Trainer with expertise in Cooperative law, Business law, SASRA/CBK compliance, licensing, and regulatory risk analysis. The trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-impact training programs to professionals and organizations, enhancing their understanding of legal frameworks, regulatory obligations, and compliance best practices in the cooperative and financial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and regularly update training materials and modules on cooperative law, business law, SASRA/CBK compliance, licensing, and regulatory risk management, ensuring alignment with current legal requirements and industry standards.
• Deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and seminars for corporate clients, government entities, and individuals, focusing on the practical application of legal and regulatory compliance.
• Provide real-world case studies, hands-on exercises, and interactive learning experiences to deepen participant understanding of compliance challenges and solutions.
• Guide participants in conducting regulatory risk assessments, interpreting relevant laws, and implementing effective compliance frameworks.
• Train participants on the processes of licensing, regulatory engagement, and maintaining compliance with SASRA, CBK, and other relevant authorities.
• Stay abreast of emerging legal and regulatory trends, integrating new developments and best practices into training content.
• Assess training effectiveness through participant feedback and continuously improve training methodologies.
• Support organizations in understanding and fulfilling their legal and regulatory obligations in the cooperative and financial sectors.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Master's degree in Corporate, Financial, or Cooperative Law.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in legal advisory, compliance, or regulatory affairs, ideally within the financial or cooperative sector.
• Proven experience in training, capacity building, or professional development in legal and regulatory compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of cooperative law, business law, SASRA/CBK regulations, and the licensing landscape in Kenya.
• Strong understanding of regulatory risk analysis, compliance frameworks, and policy development.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
