Library Assistant III -3 Posts at Public Service Commission Kenya (PSCK)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Library and Information Science; Library and Information Studies; or Library, Archives and Records Management from a recognized institution; 

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities include;- 

• Accessioning, stamping and labelling of the acquired information resources; 
• Shelving and shelf arrangement; 
• Charging and discharging library resources, pasting date due labels; 
• Preparing file pockets and press cuttings; 
• Spine marking; 
• Fixing book jackets; 
• Listing of materials for binding; and 
• Filing catalogue cards.
