    Litigation Officer

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Assist in managing all litigation matters within the company and its subsidiaries.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of cases, including maintaining the litigation docket for upcoming activities and keeping up to date records of case progress using the case sheet for each case.
    • Give sound legal opinions on litigation matters within the company and its subsidiaries.
    • Draft for review and approval all demand letters, legal instruments, and Court defense responses.
    • Take part in negotiation of out of Court Settlements and drafting such Settlements for third party signing.
    • Conduct legal research, monitoring legislation changes and advising the management on the same.
    • Visit different Courts in different counties to follow up on litigation matters and reporting on the status.
    • Initiate and process withdrawal of cases from Court over cleared debts.
    • Together with the legal counsel, map out the Company’s litigation portfolio.
    • Participate in external case file reviews to monitor progress, identify barriers, and brainstorm solutions.
    • Maintain comprehensive electronic case files to a high professional standard complete with scanned original documentation, accurate case sheets, client engagement letters.
    • Maintain regular communication with external panel of lawyers and other stakeholders.
    • Any other duty assigned from time to time.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience.
    • Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognized institution.
    • Knowledge of legal Policies and Procedures.
    • Strong relationship building capabilities.
    • Experience in Contract and Litigation Management.
    • Experience in Records Management.
