Loan Officer at Balloon Ventures Ltd

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Loan Manager to join our team in Kenya. This critical role focuses on identifying and vetting high-potential businesses that align with our mission. The Loan Manager will conduct thorough due diligence on potential clients, evaluate their growth prospects, and present viable businesses for investment. This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the local SME landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Identification: Source and identify SMEs
• Due Diligence & Assessment: Conduct rigorous due diligence.
• Investment Recommendations: Prepare and present detailed business cases to the investment committee.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, guiding them through the investment process and setting clear expectations for partnership with Balloon Ventures.
• Collaboration with Portfolio Management: Work closely with the Portfolio Management team to ensure a smooth transition for businesses post-investment, supporting them on their growth journey.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in lending, financial analysis or credit assessment, ideally within the SME sector.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of SME operations with demonstrated ability to assess business viability and growth potential.
• Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record in building trust-based relationships.
• Analytical Skills: Strong financial and market analysis capabilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to thorough due diligence.
