Logistics Accountant (IATA Specialist) at Power Learn Project

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing the financial operations within our dynamic logistics company, with a particular focus on air export and import activities and IATA-related transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Process and reconcile IATA billing and settlement plans (BSP/CASS) for air freight shipments.
• Ensure accurate recording of export/import revenue, costs, and accruals specific to air cargo operations.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses related to logistics operations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Liaise with operational teams to ensure accurate financial documentation for shipments.
• Handle customs duty and tax related entries and reconciliations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven experience working within a logistics or freight forwarding company.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with IATA billing and settlement procedures for air cargo.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Nice to Have

• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Experience with specific logistics ERP systems.
• Knowledge of other freight modes (ocean, road).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
