    Logistics Coordinator

    Logistics Coordinator – Outbound/Inbound (Toyota,Suzuki)

    The position will be based in Nairobi and ideal candidate will report to Logistics Manager.

    The role is responsible for the implementation of outbound and inbound logistics for Toyota Kenya focusing on Toyota and Suzuki models (coordinate all imports, exports, transport and customs warehousing logistics).

    Main Responsibilities of the job

    Assist in daily management of Group Logistics Centre operations by;

    1. Communication and liaison with all logistics suppliers
    2. Manage key relationships with all stakeholders in the supply chain
    3. Development and review of team processes/ SOPs
    4. Promote all CSI and Kaizen and other internal company activities

    KRA, NTSA & Treasury liaison

    1. Lead-time management to ensure all KRA, NTSA and other government agencies processes are done within the approved deadlines
    2. Ensure the group logistics complies with all legal requirements with regards to logistics and other related processes
    3. Creating effective relationships with all suppliers
    4. Records Management and Audit
    5. Clearance cost controls

    Supplier management & Liaison

    1. Assist in supplier pre-qualifications, SLA development, contract signing and renewals
    2. Communication with suppliers and performance reviews of all the suppliers
    3. Manage all clearance costs through frequent review and negotiations with different suppliers

    Operational Responsibilities

    Imports clearance

    1. Follow up of cargo movement and clearance documents from suppliers, dispatch to agents and file opening
    2. Imports clearance follow up from pre-shipping documentation to delivery at designated points
    3. Follow up on reports- vehicle daily, weekly and monthly lead time reports
    4. Assist process tax payments in liaison with Finance department and KRA collecting banks
    5. KRA/ Treasury liaison
    6. Participate in monthly review meetings with agent staff

    Transport

    1. Follow-up on vehicle and parts movement from port of entry to the final destinations

    Customs bond processes

    1. Ex-warehouse clearance follow-up
    2. Follow up on Stocks/ warehouse management (re-warehousing/ warehousing dates)
    3. Records management
    4. Oversee, guide and audit records management (filing) by service provider 

    Minimum level of academic and professional qualification

    1. Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding or and supply chain from a recognized institution. A degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
    2. Three years of relevant working experience in logistics in the automotive industry in a comparable size
    3. Good understanding of vehicle, parts and CKD kits importation and clearance process
    4. Basic Computer Knowledge in excel, PowerPoint, Ms office applications
    5. Automotive industry knowledge
    6. Knowledge of international trade
