Management Accountant – Grants at KCA University (KCAU)

Job Objective

• The job holder will be responsible for grants accounting, donor compliance and monitoring the financial and operational performance of designated programmes and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Grants Management
  • Maintain detailed grant financial records and ledgers.
  • Monitor expenditure against donor budgets.
  • Prepare donor financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and restrictions.
  • Support grant audits and donor reviews.
  • Track restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Foundation Financial Management
  • Record and monitor all Foundation income and expenditure.
  • Track donations, sponsorships, and fundraising income.
  • Prepare financial accountability reports for Foundation activities.
  • Support donor stewardship reporting.
• Project Accounting
  • Track project expenditures and funding utilisation.
  • Reconcile project accounts and funding balances.
  • Monitor budget absorption and utilisation rates.
  • Support project audits and donor inspections.
• Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with donor agreements and funding conditions.
  • Maintain documentation for audit and accountability.
  • Coordinate responses to audit queries.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited/recognised University.
• CPA(K) or ACCA qualification.
• Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in grants, project accounting, or fund management.
• Experience with donor-funded projects will be an added advantage.
