    Mergers & Acquisitions Intern

    Job Summary

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven M & A Intern to assist our Finance department with technical and administrative tasks. You will be responsible for supporting our inorganic growth propositions that the Mergers & Acquisitions (M & A) team is currently working on. This comprises support from deal origination, the initial phase of the engagement, to due diligence and support to negotiations and post-closing activities. You will participate in improving our processes and documents together with our experienced staff. This is a temporary role for a duration of 03 (three) months only.

    Responsibilities

    1. Assist the M & A Analyst in undertaking departmental functions
    2. Be at the heart of deal execution contributing to the inorganic development of the company
    3. Analyze the strategic fit of potential targets and identify tactics to close a deal(buying and selling)
    4. Engage, learn from and collaborate with other personnel for effective service delivery
    5. Perform and evaluate due diligence on client portfolios
    6. Conception and development of tailor-made analysis tools to support existing valuation models
    7. Performance of valuations on a wide range of entities using discounted earnings, discounted cash flow, market multiples, etc
    8. Analysis of capital markets and assessment of the cost of capital according to CAPM
    9. Carry out project management duties from time to time
    10. Presentation of results in a clear and concise report to the project team
    11. Assisting in the development of presentations and publications communicated to clients
    12. Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor and other company leadership

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or Economics
    2. A diploma in Information Technology or Information Science will be advantageous
    3. Minimum 2 Years experience in a similar or related role such as investment advisor, financial advisor, accounting, or banking.

    2. Strong independent judgment, creativity, and critical thinking skills
    3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills such that you are able to deliver a difficult message in a clear way, and having an affinity with numbers is second nature to you
    4. High self-awareness, a good listener, reflective and solution-oriented, proactive learner, as well as collaborative, and a team player
    5. Excellent English (written and spoken) and you are very familiar with MS-Office Suite
    6. Must be able to multi-task under pressure
