    Monitoring Officer II - 2 Posts

    Job Purpose

    • Responsible for monitoring of policing operations affecting members of the public

    Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
    An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Supporting the implementation of policies, strategies, guidelines, plans,standards and procedures pertaining to monitoring while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations;
    • Monitoring police operations affecting members of the public;
    • Collecting and collating data for monitoring reports;
    • Following up on the implementation of recommendations arising from policeoperations monitored;
    • Conducting studies on trends and patterns of police misconduct;
    • Monitoring the operations of the Internal Affairs Unit of the National Police Service; 
    • Implementing capacity building programs on the prevention of police misconduct;
    • Implementing monitoring tools, concepts and controls to suit emerging trends in policing; and
    • Updating records in the division.

    Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Law, Public Administration, Public Policy, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Education, Sociology, Political Science, Social Sciences, Military, Security Studies or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
    • Proficiency in computer applications
