    Music Trainer

    Job Purpose:

    This position is responsible for training music club students and offering professional guidance to them as they prepare for competitions and other presentations.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Writing scripts and training students on music, dance, and elocutions
    • Assess students’ abilities in music performance by monitoring them
    • Scouting and tapping music talent amongst the students
    • Plan and prepare music training programs
    • Counseling and guiding students on the proficiency of the music profession
    • Composing, arranging, conducting, and directing the music during university events and outside the university at the Kenya Universities Performing Arts Associations (KUPAA)
    • Mentoring and enforcing discipline to music students
    • Working together with the marketing department towards the growth of the university through music presentations and performances
    • Any other duty(s) as may be assigned to you by management from time to time.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Relevant College Diploma or Certificate
    • Substantive experience in scripting music items
    • Proven experience in training university students for music festivals up to the national level, preferably having certification in music and theatre studies
    • Experience working in a University set up

    • Sound-minded individual with planning capabilities, flexible and able to work efficiently with the capacity to identify, investigate, analyze, and advocate solutions to music, dance and elocution practices
    • Reliable team player and a leader, a believer in performance, and can work under minimal supervision
    • Ability to respond effectively to emails and possess proper verbal and written communication skills
