    Insights & Impact Manager

    About the Insights & Impact Role

    The Insights and Impact Manager will provide a cross-cutting role for several projects, helping to synthesize learnings, conduct research, and develop content required to elevate BFA Global's findings and impact.

     

    What You'll Do

    1. Helping to develop and manage a learning agenda for inclusive tech innovation programs on topics such as climate tech, fintech, and jobtech.
    2. Creating knowledge products as a primary author and supporting others' work.
    3. Contributing to research and impact strategies for partner startups and service providers.
    4. Crafting templates for publication.
    5. Developing and implementing research methodologies tailored to a given project.
    6. Performing thorough literature reviews and background research, including gray literature.
    7. Drafting content for presentations, webinars and other communication mediums for knowledge products.
    8. Manage editorial and publication process with internal and/or external staff, including revising products.
    9. Synthesizing key findings and contributing to the end-of-project reports.

    Additional tasks will depend on project requirements determined by our client-driven work.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Master's degree in Development, Economics, Climate or equivalent and at least three years of work experience
    • Familiarity with financial inclusion and digital financial services innovation for low-income populations, economic development, or the social business sector.
    • Experience developing knowledge products, including reports and blogs.
    • Ability to think on your feet, i.e. a “hacker" mentality
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment, with strong attention to detail for all tasks
    • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while balancing several assignments with inputs from multiple team members

    Any of the following will be considered a plus:

    • Experience working with startups or innovative product approaches
    • A strong understanding of climate change adaptation and mitigation topics, including a general understanding of the current state of international climate policy.
    • A strong commitment to addressing topics related to equity and justice (e.g. climate justice).
    • Familiarity working with different cultures and languages
    • Experience with product management for low-income populations and/or in low-connectivity environments (i.e., USSD for SMS-based products)
    • Spoken and written language proficiency other than English, particularly French
