Nuclear Laboratory Analyst at Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority ( KNRA)

For appointment to this grade an officer must have: –

• Bachelor’s Degree in the any of the following disciplines: – Physics, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Instrumentation and Control, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Science with a bias in Atomic or Radiation Science or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Demonstrable computer literacy, and
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Compiling and uploading data into the national dose register for occupationally exposed personnel;
• Creating and maintaining a log of radiation detection equipment and instrumentation;
• Keeping records of radiation sources, dose exposures, and unusual occurrences;
• Receiving and documenting samples for forensic analysis;
• Sampling, analyzing, and maintaining inventory of radioactivity of all radioactive or potentially radioactive source terms onsite and offsite of a facility;
• Conducting personal dosimetry; and
• Installing, operating and adjusting radiation detection equipment and instrumentation.
