Duties and Responsibilities at This Level Will Entail:

• Ensuring administration of medicines, injectable fluids, and infusion to patients as prescribed by Medical Officers or Clinical Officers;
• Coordinating the ordering of medicines, injectable fluids, and infusion from the drug store;
• Accounting for medicines, injectable fluids, and infusion;
• Monitoring patients’ condition placed under observation;
• Examining, diagnosing, and prescribing drugs to patients by Nurses on-call or when required;
• Administering immunization to babies;
• Cleaning, stitching, and dressing minor wounds, cuts, incision, and draining uncomplicated abscesses;
• Overseeing normal or emergency deliveries of babies where patients cannot reach the nearest hospital;
• Counseling and examining antenatal, post-natal, and family planning clients in MCH/FP clinic;
• Coordinating dispensation of contraceptives;
• Administering First Aid to emergencies;
• Coordinating nursing care.

Job Specifications:

• A minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience;
• Diploma in Nursing or equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Nursing Council of Kenya registration;
• Membership in the Nursing Council of Kenya;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
