    Nutritionist

    Working under the mentorship and supervision of the Nutrition Officer, the Nutritionist will be a MOH liaison and directly responsible for the day-to-day oversight and implementation of the ComPAS- IMAM & MIYCN protocols in the program which includes.

    • Coordination and performance of the COMPAS protocol working with the Nutrition manager to ensure that the program is running efficiently.
    • Cooperating with the Supply Chain department, propose and procure family nutrition program supplies in accordance to the developed Procurement plans in Integra.
    • In conjunction with the County and sub – county department of health, plan and conduct trainings for health staff on COMPASS, MIYCN and Family MUAC.
    • Together with the caregiver teams, coordinate the day-to-day implementation of MIYCN, family MUAC screening at household levels through community health workers and radio program.
    • In collaboration with ministry of health, plan for trainings for M2MSGs on efficient MIYCN practices.
    • Participate in coordination meetings at the County and sub-county level with the MOH and Partners including NTWG, CNTF and any other.
    • Support development of County work plans with the S/CHMTs and schedule joint supervisions to improve quality programming.
    • Prepare cash forecast in liaison with the other program staff pursuant to the work plans.
    • Manage the project budget; making sure that expenditure stays in sync with donor guidelines, and guided by organizational policies.
    • Supervise budget spending in line with spending plan; ensure diligence in grants utilization including timely spending and value for money.
    • Implement comprehensive maternal infant and young child nutrition program (MIYCN) Baby Friendly Community initiative (BFCI),Family MUAC approaches.
    • Contribute to timely, high quality donor reports according to IRC and donor regulations. Ensure all required documents of all the activities implemented are included.
    • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain Department in logistical program supplies procurement and supervise supply control.
    • Attend & represent the Nutrition program in MOH meetings, CNTFs, Surveys and DQAs.
    • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in food, Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized University.
    • Must be a registered nutrition or dietitian KNDI.

    Required Experience & Competencies

    • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in emergency community nutrition and implementation.
    • Experience in maternal infant and young nutrition with strong BFHI & BFCI approaches.
    • Experience in nutrition survey and assessments.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong report writing and team working skills.
    • Knowledge in computer packages and basic analysis skills.
    • Ability to work in hardship areas (previous experience in a camp setting will be an added advantage).
    • Flexible and positive personality.
    • Strong planning and implementation capacity.
    • Confident and capable negotiator, communicator, and networker.
