    The Kenya Law Reform Commission (the Commission) is established by the Kenya Law Reform Commission Act, No. 19 of 2013 (the Act). Presidential assent was given on 14 January 2013 and the Act came into force on 25th January 2013. The Commission has a statutory and ongoing role of reviewing all the law of Kenya to ensure that it is modernized, relevant and harmonized with the Constitution of Kenya. Following the promulgation of the Constitution in 2010, the Commission has an additional mandate of preparing new legislation to give effect to the Constitution. The third mandate is found in the County Governments Act, No. 17 of 2012 which requires the Commission to assist the county governments in the development of their laws.

    Office Assistant II

    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable and includes:

    • Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 27,209 - Kshs. 33,892 per month.
    • House Allowance: Kshs. 6,750 per month.
    • Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 4,000 per month.
    • Leave allowance: Ksh. 4,000 per annum.
    • Annual Leave: 30 working days per leave year.
    • Medical: As per the current KLRC medical insurance cover.

     Duties and Responsibilities: These will entail among others:

    • Ensuring cleanliness of Commission’s offices;
    • Assisting in arranging for in house events such as meetings/workshops (arranging furniture, boards, charts, stationery and re-arranging after completion.);
    • Moving or carrying office equipment, furniture and ensuring orderly arrangements;
    • Cleaning the kitchen equipment/items and taking care of kitchen items as per inventory while maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment;
    • Providing support services, which include distribution of correspondence, dispatching of mail to the post office and other destinations;
    • Preparing and serving tea to staff and other office stakeholders as instructed;
    • Collecting and disposing waste including papers and ensure general disposal of litter;
    • Undertaking day-to-day errands as may be required; and
    • Assisting in photocopying and documentation tasks and participating in basic filling of documents.

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

    • Scored D Plain in KCSE Exams;
    • Certificate in Customer Care or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; and
    • Certificate in computer application skills.
