    Operations Manager

    The Operations Manager position in Madison General Insurance Kenya Limited has recently become vacant and the Company is keen to fill the position as soon as possible. The Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Madison Group Limited and is a leading provider of general and medical insurance products in Kenya.

    The position reports to the Managing Director and provides leadership to the Company’s underwriting and claims functions. It also contributes significantly to the implementation of the Company’s budget and strategic plan as well as adherence to policies and operating procedures.

    Key responsibilities

    • Provide leadership in the day-to-day management of the Operations Department and promote team work;
    • Review, develop, and implement in consultation with the Company’s leadership annual budget and strategic plan for the Operations Department;
    • Monitor and promote departmental adherence to rules, regulations and operating procedures;
    • Coordinate the preparation of departmental monthly and quarterly reports;
    • Conduct periodic operational risk reviews in consultation with other departments and recommend appropriate cause of action.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Qualified candidates are required to have the following:
    • At least 8 years of working experience in a senior management position within the insurance industry in Kenya;
    • Proven leadership ability;
    • Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation and analytical skills;
    • A good knowledge of the Kenyan insurance market and its regulatory environment;
    • Good report writing skills;
    • Self-driven personality with a strong ability to work under pressure;
    • Capacity to deliver results in accordance with strict guidelines.

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance or Business Administration;
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration is an added advantage;
    • Diploma in Insurance;
    • Professional qualifications and training in business management.
