Packing Assistant at Bayer East Africa

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Confirmation of accuracy of label details per variety and batch number.
• Accurate labeling of foils, pouches and tins
• Confirm accuracy of weighing scales every day before commencing weighing
• Weighing and filling of empty packs with seeds as per the process orders
• Confirm quantity and physical quality of the inventory issued by warehouse to packing area.
• Verification of conformity of empty sachets and tins before filling with seed
• Proper sealing of foils/pouches/tins filled with seed
• Confirmation of quality and quantity of goods produced after packing
• Packaging of packed goods in boxes and transfer to respective storage locations
• Report any non-conformities in packing process to the direct supervisor
• Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• Complete documentation related to packing process including all relevant checklists
• Keeping the work area clean and safe, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure equipment are in good working condition before use and practice safe and responsible operation
• Participate in stock counts and reconciliation
• Adherence to quality control procedures and ISO 9001 standard
• Take on other responsibilities as may be assigned by the packing supervisor

• Direct report: Packing Supervisor
• Key relations: Warehouse Operations, Sales team, Market Development, marketing, supply chain management
• Support: HSE
• External: Customers, vendors

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Basic experience in manufacturing/factory operations
• Team player
• Able to manage multiple tasks and work long hours during peaks
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Diploma in Agriculture/Supply Chain/Logistics or another related field.
