Pharmaceutical Technologist at Kenya Medical Research - KEMRI

Reports to: Study Coordinator

Duration: A renewable one year contract, as per KEMRI scheme of service. The first three months being probation period.

Qualifications:

1. Must possess at least a Diploma in pharmaceutical technology
2. Registered with the Pharmacy and Poison Board

Required Experience

1. At least two years working experience as registered Pharmaceutical technologist
2. Extensive prior experience in clinical research
3. Knowledge of HIV prevention and treatment services
4. Good Clinical Practice training/Human Subjects Protection training

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Administer respective Case Report Forms (CRFs)
2. Carrying out QA/QC of study CRFs and source documents and resolve queries that may arise.
3. Dispensing drugs and Study products to participants.
4. Ensure prescription drugs are available for dispensing to participants
5. Maintaining pharmacy temperature and humidity logs
6. Generation and review of pharmacy SOPs
7. Counseling participants on adherence to study products
8. Participants Randomization process in liaison with the data and clinic teams.
9. Maintain the pharmacy database and keeping it up to date.
10. Ensuring accurate and timely records of dispensed drugs and study products on the pharmacy logs and in the accountability logs and Database.
11. Enhancing communication between pharmacy and local PPB & coordinating center
12. Management of regulatory affairs regarding pharmacy
13. Establish and maintain good relationships with participants to foster study retention.
