    Pharmaceuticals Specialist II

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Monitor effective storage of specialized medical supplies requiring cold storage;
    • Supervise pharmaceutical services in health facilities;
    • Disseminate and provide new drug information to health workers;
    • Coordinate Medical and Therapeutic committee activities in a health facility;
    • Develop and review pharmaceutical standards operating procedures for health facilities;
    • Conduct research on the trend of medicine utilization and make appropriate advise;
    • Provide continuous professional development education to pharmacists;
    • Evaluate appropriateness of donated medical supplies and drugs;
    • Oversee maintenance of pharmaceutical inventories;
    • Participate in facility management committees;
    • Coordinate preparation of annual work plans and ensuring they are adhered to;
    • Monitor and evaluate staff performance against set targets;
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Requirement for Appointment

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B Pharm) from an institution recognized by Pharmacy and Poisons Board;
    • Master’s Degree in Clinical Pharmacy from an institution recognized by Pharmacy and Poisons Board will be an added advantage;
    • Relevant work experience of not less than four (4) years;
    • Certificate of Registration as a Pharmacist by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board;
    • Valid practicing license from Pharmacy and Poisons Board;
    • Having undergone supervisory course of not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
    • Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results;
    • Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
