    Physical Education Teacher

    Job Summary:

    • The overall purpose of this job is to provide students with a safe and inclusive learning environment by designing and implementing appropriate learning instructions and activities that align with the curriculum and manage overall student discipline.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans for the section.
    • Ensure smooth transition between activities/lessons during class time.
    • Develop and conduct assessments of learners based on content, both summative and formative, in line with the term syllabus.
    • Set exams, administer them, mark, and upload results into the system after review by the section lead.
    • Safeguard the wellbeing of learners both physically and emotionally.
    • Escalate matters contrary to expected learner behavior to the relevant office.
    • Counsel and guide learners as needed, escalating when higher interventions are required.
    • Provide spiritual guidance to learners according to various faiths; ensure learners attend religious classes as per the timetable.
    • Conduct remedial classes for learners with learning gaps or falling behind in some areas.
    • Identify learners with special needs and recommend interventions for specialized support.
    • Teach life skills to learners on issues such as relationships, environmental preservation, and global citizenship.
    • Organize and coordinate class activities, sports days, and excursions, attending them as required.
    • Develop activity and school budgets for approval by the Head of School at the beginning of the term.
    • Participate in rotational school duties as required.
    • Ensure the school's mission and vision are communicated clearly to learners.
    • Collaborate with the quality assurance department and implement feedback/recommendations provided afterward.
    • Prepare teaching aides, presentations, and learning materials for learners in a timely manner.
    • Prepare monthly reports on performance, class activities, trips, and relevant updates.
    • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Physical Health Education) from a recognized institution.
    • Must be registered with the Teacher Service Commission (TSC).
    • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.

    • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate departmental goals.
    • Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities and work under strict deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with students, parents, fellow teachers, and administrators.
    • Ability to create and teach effective lesson plans related to the subject.
    • Subject matter expertise to teach topics effectively.
    • Knowledge of behavior management strategies to keep students engaged and learning.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Creativity and engaging presentation skills.
    • Confidence in using technology to enhance student learning.
    • Resourcefulness and ability to teach effectively given available resources and student skill levels.
    • Results-oriented with the ability to deliver desired outcomes.
