Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities shall entail assisting in:
- Operating heavy plant equipment of ‘difficult rating’ Class B &C to effectively, economically and safely to ensure that all farm and related activities are carried out for maximum farm production for the University.
- Keeping monthly records of services of the plant, machinery and equipment and preparing of monthly and weekly service schedules so as to ensure that all farm targets are met within the University.
- Guiding plant operators, turn boys and attendants in identifying possible breakdowns and liaising with mechanics for servicing to ensure that all plant machines run smoothly and they are properly utilized.
- Supervising cleanliness of the plant equipment and assist in training junior plant operators to ensure that the operators effectively and efficiently carry out their objectives in achieving the farm’s goals.
- Operating assigned plant equipment and machinery.
- Maintaining plant equipment work ticket.
- Maintaining of plants and equipment.
Person Specification
For appointment to this post, a candidate must have:
- Four (4) years’ relevant working experience.
- A Valid driving licence classes BCED &H.
- Specified types - Earth movers/Grader etc.
- Suitability test for plant operators Grade II.
- Defensive driving certificate.
- Literacy in computer applications.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Have a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) on Leadership and Integrity upon successful appointment.
