    Plumber

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    • The Plumber is responsible for maintaining the proper functioning, safety, and reliability of all plumbing systems across the school campus and housing facilities. The role ensures plumbing infrastructure operates efficiently, faults are detected early, and repairs are carried out promptly in line with ISK operational and safety standards.
    • The Plumber works under the direction of the Assistant Operations Manager and supports preventive maintenance, repair works, and operational continuity of water, drainage, and sanitation systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plumbing Maintenance & Repairs

    • Ensure proper functioning of plumbing systems across campus and school housing.
    • Conduct routine inspections to detect leaks, blockages, malfunctions, and wear.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and carry out plumbing repairs as required.
    • Respond promptly to plumbing faults and service requests.

    Housing Plumbing Responsibilities (Work Allocation & Priority)

    • The Plumber supports plumbing maintenance across both the main campus and ISK staff housing. While priorities may shift based on operational needs, the role includes significant responsibility for maintaining residential plumbing systems to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted water and sanitation services for residents.

    Typical allocation (may vary based on demand):

    • Campus Plumbing Systems: Classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchens, service areas, and infrastructure.
    • Housing Plumbing Systems: Residential units, water supply, drainage, fixtures, leak detection, and emergency repairs.

    Housing-related responsibilities include:

    • Responding to plumbing faults in staff housing in a timely manner.
    • Supporting preventive maintenance of residential plumbing systems.
    • Inspecting units during maintenance cycles and reporting risks.
    • Coordinating with Housing and Operations teams on major repairs and contractor work
    • Supporting occupancy turnover plumbing checks when required.
    • Note: Work allocation may shift during peak housing maintenance periods, emergencies, or major projects.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Follow ISK safety standards and plumbing best practices at all times.
    • Use plumbing tools and equipment safely and correctly.
    • Maintain a safe working environment and report hazards immediately.

    Record-Keeping & Inventory

    • Maintain accurate records of plumbing repairs and maintenance work.
    • Track plumbing materials, tools, and spare parts inventory.
    • Request supplies and equipment through the Operations Department.

    Coordination & Operations Support

    • Coordinate with Operations Help Desk and other departments on repair requests.
    • Work collaboratively with maintenance staff and contractors where required.
    • Report defects, damages, and major issues to the Assistant Operations Manager or

    Operations Manager..

    • Support the planning and execution of scheduled maintenance, including summer works.

    Professional Conduct

    • Manage time effectively and meet assigned deadlines.
    • Maintain professionalism, reliability, and accountability.
    • Support ISK Mission, Vision, and operational standards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Operations Manager or Operations Manager.

    Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:

    • Diploma or formal training in Plumbing, Mechanical, or Building Services.
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
    • Valid plumbing certification from a recognized institution or regulatory body.
    • Demonstrated experience in plumbing maintenance and repairs.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong troubleshooting and fault-detection ability.
    • Ability to safely use plumbing tools and equipment.
    • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Honest, reliable, and safety-conscious.
    • Commitment to ISK safeguarding and operational standards

    Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:

    • Experience working in a school, residential, or institutional environment.
    • Experience in a multicultural or international environment.
    • Additional technical skills (basic electrical, maintenance, or facilities knowledge) are an advantage.

    Working Conditions

    • Physically active role (lifting, standing, working in confined or wet areas).
    • Exposure to water, drainage systems, and maintenance environments.
    • May require occasional evening, emergency, or holiday maintenance work
