    Principal Lecturer Water & Waste Water Engineering

    Qualifications

    1. Masters degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering (water option) or its equivalent from a recognized University;
    2. Bachelors degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering (water option) or its equivalent from a recognized University and
    3. Certificate in Senior Management course lasting not less than one month. Experience At least three (3) years experience as a senior lecturer or an equivalent grade in a training environment

    Knowledge and Skills

    1. Management of a multi-disciplinary team of Lecturers; ii. Budgeting for course programmes and related activities;
    2. Management of Performance Evaluation against set targets;
    3. Experience of commercially-oriented working practices; v. Excellent facilitation and interpersonal communication skills
    4. In depth knowledge of lecturing area;
    5. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate training programmes;
    6. Good conceptual skills, creative problem solving and analytical skills;
    7. Computer literate.

    Main Tasks

    The officer will report to the Deputy Director Academics Unit and perform the following tasks:

    1. Teaching specified subjects in accordance with the syllabus;
    2. Develop teaching/learning materials;
    3. Supervising course work /examinations
    4. Setting and marking course work/examinations;
    5. Develop and review of curriculum;
    6. Coordinate field practical (industrial attachments) training;
    7. Mentoring students;
    8. Evaluation of training programmes;
    9. Carry out research in a relevant lecturing field;
    10. Undertake administrative duties;
    11. Budgeting for course programs and related activities.

    Mandatory Requirements

    • Must have clearance certificate as contained in Chapter Six of the Kenya Constitution 2010
    • Clearance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
    • Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC);
    • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police;
    • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
    • An approved credit reference bureau certificate;
    • An approved certificate from Commission for University Education for degrees obtained outside Kenya
