Private Chef at a Reputable Company

JOB DESCRIPTION

• We are looking for a professional, experienced and reliable Private Chef to join a private household in Mugutha, Kiambu.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch and supper, while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness. The Chef should be able to plan menus, prepare a variety of meals and work independently according to the household's preferences and schedule.
• Experience in a Five-Star Hotel, luxury hotel, fine-dining restaurant or high-end private household will be an added advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and supper from Monday to Saturday.
• Plan daily and weekly menus.
• Prepare a variety of Kenyan, African, continental and international dishes.
• Ensure meals are fresh, properly cooked and well presented.
• Take reasonable dietary preferences and food requirements into consideration.
• Prepare shopping lists and monitor kitchen supplies where required.
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
• Store food properly and minimize food wastage.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Clean and organize cooking areas, utensils and equipment after use.
• Take proper care of kitchen appliances and household property.
• Ensure meals are prepared according to the required schedule.
• Report food shortages, damaged equipment or other kitchen concerns.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and respect the privacy of the household.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Private Chef, Personal Chef, Household Chef or similar position.
• Strong cooking and food-preparation skills.
• Ability to prepare breakfast, lunch and supper.
• Good knowledge of different cuisines.
• Strong menu-planning and organizational skills.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
• Excellent personal and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Professional, respectful and trustworthy.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Culinary training or certification is an added advantage.
• Previous Five-Star Hotel Chef experience is a strong added advantage.

• The ideal candidate should be clean, disciplined, trustworthy, discreet, creative, organized and passionate about cooking. They should be comfortable working in a private household and capable of consistently preparing high-quality meals.

SALARY & WORK SCHEDULE

Salary: KSh 50,000  Per Month
Location: Mugutha, Kiambu
Working Days: Monday – Saturday
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
