Role Summary
The Product Business Analyst (BA) plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the product delivery team. Responsible for translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements, the BA ensures that all product enhancements and releases align with business priorities, deliver tangible value, and support the TurnQuest product roadmap.
This role combines analytical thinking, agile delivery expertise, and stakeholder management to maintain a well-structured product backlog, enable smooth delivery cycles, and ensure solutions meet business objectives effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Analytical Support
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to shape and evolve the product roadmap based on business needs and market insights.
- Analyze current and future business states, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insights to support business cases and ROI assessments for proposed features or enhancements.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
- Elicit, document, and refine business and system requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria aligned with agile best practices principles.
- Maintain a prioritized product backlog that reflects business priorities and technical dependencies.
Agile Delivery Support
- Ensure all backlog items are ready for sprint planning with clear descriptions, estimates, and acceptance criteria.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Track progress of requirements from development through testing to user acceptance and business sign-off.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, QA, and product leadership.
- Ensure stakeholders are updated on progress, risks, and dependencies at each stage of delivery.
- Support the adoption and rollout of product changes through training, documentation, and communication activities.
Transition & Release Support
- Coordinate requirements for release planning, including transition activities and user readiness.
- Prepare and share release notes, user guides, and known issue lists ahead of product go-lives.
- Support testing teams during UAT cycles with requirement clarifications and acceptance criteria validation.
Technical Competencies
- Business process modeling (e.g., BPMN, UML) and requirements analysis.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and technical writing skills.
- Expertise in requirements management and user story creation for agile teams.
- Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of testing practices and ability to support scenario-based validation.
