Product Designer at Ushahidi

Key Responsibilities

• Champion the user at every stage of the design process. Conduct user research to understand their needs, pain points, and behaviors, and translate these insights into effective design solutions.
• Create visually engaging and consistent user interfaces for Ushahidi's products. Craft pixel-perfect designs, including wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that align with our brand and design principles.
• Develop intuitive user flows and interactions that enhance the overall user experience. Ensure that our products are easy to navigate and meet the needs of a diverse user base.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to bring your design concepts to life. Engage in regular feedback loops with developers to ensure seamless implementation.
• Embrace an iterative design approach. Continuously gather user feedback and conduct usability testing to refine and improve your designs.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system that promotes consistency and scalability across our product portfolio.

Requirements

• Proven experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and process.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or Penpot.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate and justify design decisions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of prototyping and micro-animations is a plus.
