    Product Manager-API Management

    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Product Manager-API Management to lead the strategic development and management of our API ecosystem. As the API Management Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the API product roadmap, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of API solutions that enhance our digital banking capabilities. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of banking processes, API technologies, and a proven track record in product management.

    Responsibilities:

    •  Develop and execute a comprehensive API product strategy aligned with the bank's digital transformation goals.
    •  Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform API product roadmap.
    • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for API products, from ideation to launch and ongoing enhancements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and business stakeholders, to ensure successful product delivery.
    • Define and implement strategies for API monetization, pricing models, and revenue generation opportunities.
    • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies related to API management in the banking sector.
    • Work closely with business development teams to identify and pursue new partnerships and opportunities.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to APIs.
    •  Ensure API products comply with banking regulations, data protection, and industry standards.
    • Gather customer feedback to enhance API products and ensure they meet the needs of both internal and external users.
    • Implement customer-centric design principles to optimize the user experience.
    • Work closely with technical teams to understand API architecture, security measures, and integration requirements.
    •  Translate technical capabilities into customer benefits and business values
    •  Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for API products, including usage guides and developer documentation.
    • Conduct training sessions for internal teams and external partners on API usage and best practices.

    Qualifications

    •  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Proven experience (X years) in API design, development, and management.
    • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and other web services protocols.
    •  Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
    •  Hands-on experience with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft, Kong).
    •  In-depth knowledge of API security principles and best practices.
    •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
    • Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
    •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certification in API management (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Certified Developer, AWS Certified Developer).
    • Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
    •  Familiarity with microservices architecture and related technologies (e.g., Spring Boot etc).
    • Knowledge of API monetization strategies and revenue models.
    • Experience with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD automation.
