Production Manager at Kim-Fay East Africa Limited

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the startup and commissioning of a crescent former tissue machine
• Guide both stock preparation and machine-side teams through startup procedures
• Fine-tune machine settings to reach designed operating speeds, production targets, and quality standards
• Identify root causes of process inefficiencies, downtime, and quality deviations
• Support grade change optimization, fiber recovery, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with the local production team to build long-term operational capability
• Provide structured training, coaching, and performance improvement guidance
• Ensure safe startup practices and alignment with occupational safety standards

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in tissue paper production or machine commissioning
• Hands-on experience with crescent former machines (Valmet, Voith, Toscotec, ANDRITZ preferred)
• Strong understanding of stock prep systems, machine control, and process parameters
• Experience leading or supporting paper mill startups, ideally in emerging markets
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team mentoring skills
• Ability to travel and work on-site in Nairobi during critical project phases
