Operations & Process Management

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production operations to achieve production targets, operational efficiency, and customer requirements within the shift.
• Monitor production output, machine utilization, process performance, and resource availability to ensure smooth shift operations.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, pre-start inspections, material availability, inventory control, and equipment reliability to minimize downtime and production losses.
• Maintain and post accurate production records, shift handovers, and operational reports.
• Participate in problem-solving and corrective action initiatives, support continuous improvement programs and all company initiatives as required.
• collaborate effectively with other departments i.e. Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, HR for optimum production and operation efficiency during shifts.
• Other duties assigned by the Production Engineer.

Quality Management

• Monitor and ensure product quality throughout the production shift.
• Identify, control, segregate, and report non-conforming products.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, customer specifications, and quality management system requirements.
• Investigate quality issues and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and traceability documentation.
• Support continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing defects, waste, and process variation.

Safety, Health, Environment & Housekeeping (SHEH)

• Enforce compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements within the shift.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe working procedures.
• Promote safe machine operation, emergency preparedness, and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Conduct shift workplace safety inspections and report unsafe conditions.
• Champion Gemba 6S standards, including workplace organization, cleanliness, and waste control.
• Ensure team compliance SHE policies during the shift.
• Foster a culture of safety awareness, incident prevention, and continuous improvement in SHE performance.

Requirements

Qualifications required:

• Minimum academic qualification:  Diploma in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Production Engineering or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications as an added advantage:

• Computer literacy.
• SAP

Experience required:

• Minimum three (3) years' experience in a similar role.
• Experience in steel processing or heavy manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.

Additional/specific work requirements:

• Knowledge of Steel Processing Operations.
• Training in 6S, Autonomous Maintenance and TPM.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Physically fit to work in a manufacturing environment and wear required PPE.
