    Program Officer, Imarisha Msichana Scholarship Program

    Position Overview

    The Program Officer will play a crucial role in monitoring and mentoring students at various schools funded by the Mastercard Foundation. He/she will also create awareness to win stakeholders' commitment to end Teen pregnancy and Child Marriage; strengthen social accountability among the duty bearers; and enhance agency among young people to demand their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related Humanities field is preferred.
    • At least two years’ experience in girls’ education and prior experience implementing or managing a scholarship programme
    • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (issued within the last 6 months).
    • Experience in programme implementation and management within education programming is an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
    • A broad grasp of socio-cultural and economic issues with respect to teenage pregnancy
    •  Ability to travel by road to the field
    • Experience working with county governments, civil society, partners and local communities
    • Detailed understanding and experience of gender and diversity issues and individual commitment to addressing inequalities in all the key areas of responsibility.
