    Programme Officer (Disability Inclusion)

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

    Education

    • An advanced university degree preferably at PhD level in one of the following fields is required: Economics, Public Finance, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Political Science, or another relevant technical field.

    Experience

    • Experience working with the Government of Kenya particularly on assignments related to National Planning and Budget making Processes.
    • At least five (5) years of progressive work and experience in the areas of social protection, vulnerable groups and related policy reform areas, including in-depth experience developing and drafting social development planning and economic policies.
    • Excellent analytical and writing skills demonstrated by proven record of publications and reports relating to analysis of vulnerable groups and/or relating to policies and programmes for their interventions including social protection sector planning, social protection policy, strategy and plan development, etc. As a part of the technical evaluation, applicants are requested to provide a recent piece of work completed.
    • Excellent communication and advocacy skills to engage in effective consultation at all levels of partners and government departments at the sector and sub-section working group.
    • Experience working with multiple international development, UN agencies and partners as well as the State Department for Planning.
    • Good knowledge of fiscal and macro-economics, and social policy in Low and Middle Income country context, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa considered as a strong asset.
