    Programmes Officer,Gender, Youth & Social Inclusion

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support, guidance, and oversight of gender, youth, and social inclusion activities to Marie
    • Stopes Kenya programs, in line with Marie Stopes quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practices.
    • Provide support for youth, gender-responsive and socially inclusive service delivery, demand generation and community engagement.
    • Support the scale of gender and youth-friendly services at facility and community levels.
    • Support integration of GBV prevention and response services into health facilities and community-based programming
    • Implement gender and age-differentiated approaches to address social norms, GBV and contextual drivers, and capacity-building tools.
    • Support the development of program learning - identify opportunities for learning and success stories around gender, youth, and social inclusion.
    • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of integrated gender, youth, and social inclusion activities ensuring high quality and timeliness on deliverables against intended objectives and targets.
    • Oversee technical assistance and capacity-strengthening activities in gender, youth, and social inclusion for staff, partner organisations and Government to enhance quality and impact.
    • Ensure timely and appropriate financial expenditures in line with financial plans/program budgets and efficient use and stewardship of project and Organizational material sources.
    • Contribute to the preparation of annual project work-plan, budgets, performance reports, and quarterly reports.
    • Identify and support documentation of best practices, and use them to profile the impact of local level gender /social change approaches, and promote lesson sharing.
    • Represent the project to internal and external partners including the county government and other project partners and key stakeholders on relevant gender/ social change information and thematic committees / technical groups.
    • Other duties, as required.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a university degree (BA, BSc) in a related, relevant field (e.g., gender studies, public health, international development, social sciences, anthropology, or a related field).
    • A minimum of three (3+) years of experience in gender and youth programming in the health sector, including integration of Gender into the consortium of SRH services from facilities into communities including a focus on youth and adolescents.
    • Experience in presenting findings, results, and lessons learned to a variety of audiences is desirable.
    • Experience integrating gender, age, and other significant socio-cultural and inclusion elements in the context of sexual reproductive health and rights.
    • Demonstrated experience leading data/information collection, analysis, and utilization/implementation for program adaptive management.
    • Demonstrated coordination, teamwork and planning skills with proven ability to function effectively programs/projects in both the public and NGO sectors.
    • Demonstrated in-depth understanding and application of technical principles and concepts in gender integration that ensure proper cross-sectoral/integrated approach.
    • Familiarity with principles and approaches in gender transformative approaches and understanding of programs addressing persistent acute malnutrition.
