Project Development Analyst(Environmental & Social) at Bazaruto Renewables

What will you do?

• As a Project Development Analyst you will support the development team in all environmental & social aspects of the project development cycle including:
• Early site identification and inception analysis.
• Producing stakeholder engagement plans and conducting stakeholder engagement.
• Securing land rights.
• Obtaining permits, licenses, and authorizations.
• Developing terms of reference for environmental & social impact scoping/ assessments.
• Conducting and reviewing (pre-)feasibility studies (including environmental & social impact scoping/ assessments).
• Developing biodiversity action plans and resettlement action plans.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management/ Sciences/ Studies or related course with a minimum of Second Class Honours, Upper Division.
• 1 to 3 years working experience.
• Familiar with IFC Performance Standards.
• Conversant with the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
• Strong background in both terrestrial and aquatic ecology.
• Experience in avian conservation and ecology is an added advantage.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Team player with strong communication, analytical, and numerical skills.
• Adaptable and eager to learn.
• Able to work autonomously and in a team.
• Entrepreneurial and hands-on.
• Resourceful, persistent, assertive, self-starter, consistent, accurate, and great attention to detail.
• Keen interest in sustainability or renewable energy.
• Comfortable across cultures and time zones.
• Fluent in English and Swahili.
