Description

The pupil will shadow experienced lawyers, assist with court document preparation, conduct legal research, and potentially attend client meetings and negotiations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Acknowledge receipt of client instructions and log them.
• Prepare and file pleadings electronically under guidance of manuals and supervision of HOD.
• Track case progress and prepare periodic client litigation status reports.
• Diarisation and preparation for Court attendances.
• Draft and transmit Client update emails and letters.
• Correspond with Clients, opposing counsel and litigants.
• Responding to Client or opposing counsel’s or litigant’s queries, whether through email or through phone calls.
• Serve pleadings/documents electronically.
• Prepare Affidavits/Certificates of Service.
• Billing/Invoicing Clients as per Firm guidelines.
• Following up on client payments.
• Attending client and internal meetings.

Skills & Experience

• Successful enrolment and completion of Kenya School of Law Advocates Training Program. (ATP) Coursework.
• Degree in Law from a recognized and accredited University.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
