    Quality Assurance Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implement systems to ensure quality at each stage of the production process including supply, slaughter, processing, ageing, value addition, packaging, order packing and dispatch.
    • Ensure all products dispatched meet quality standards working with internal stakeholders specifically the Production Manager and Sales Manager.
    • Implement systems to ensure traceability of stock utilization at each stage of the production process.
    • Monitor and provide guidance to the processing team on adherence to quality standards and provide training as required.
    • Conduct regular product testing and analysis to ensure that all meat products are safe for consumption and meet the required standards.
    • Work with the Production and Sales managers to complete any customer specific quality reviews and maintain a customer specification handbook.
    • Take lead in preparation of the site for third party audits and resolve any issues arising.
    • Take lead on maintenance of existing KEBS certifications and acquiring new ones.
    • Promote and adhere to health and safety protocols and regulations within the production facility. Participate in safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and report them to the appropriate personnel.
    • Support training initiatives to enhance employee awareness and adherence to safety procedures.
    • Monitor, review, and report issues arising from complaints and routine testing.
    • Gather accurate data at each stage of the production process and compile reports for management.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in food science, meat science, or a related field.
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control and assurance preferably in the meat sector.
    • Must have training and experience in ISO22000 or HACCP.
    • Should display excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
    • Must have strong knowledge of food safety and quality control regulations and standards.
