The Regional Coordinator provides leadership and coordination of EAMDA’s enterprise development, youth engagement, and market systems activities within their assigned region. This role ensures effective implementation of field operations, supports MSMEs and youth-led enterprises, strengthens value chains, and maintains strong relationships with county stakeholders.
Each coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for their region, overseeing county teams, partners, and beneficiaries to ensure the timely delivery of outputs and high-quality program execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Leadership and Coordination
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all regional field activities.
- Supervise regional business advisors, field officers, and support staff.
- Maintain strong working relationships with county governments, private sector actors, and community structures.
- Ensure that activities follow established implementation plans, standards, and performance targets.
Enterprise and MSME Support
- Support youth-led and community enterprises through training, coaching, and business development assistance.
- Facilitate enterprise assessments, capacity-building sessions, and growth planning.
- Promote adoption of best practices in financial management, operations, and market readiness.
Value Chain and Market Systems Development
- Coordinate market mapping, research, and engagement with enterprise clusters.
- Strengthen linkages between enterprises, buyers, financial service providers, and other market actors.
- Identify opportunities for technology adoption, improved productivity, and market growth within the region.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as EAMDA’s regional liaison with county departments, private sector associations, cooperatives, and local organizations.
- Convene stakeholder forums, business networking sessions, and learning events.
- Communicate program priorities and represent EAMDA professionally at county-level engagements.
Monitoring, Reporting and Learning
- Track field activities, data, and progress against targets.
- Prepare accurate and timely regional reports, success stories, and learning outputs.
- Work closely with MEAL staff to ensure quality data collection and accountability.
- Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities for improvement at the regional level.
Operational and Team Support
- Oversee logistics, planning, and execution of training, field travel, and events.
- Maintain proper documentation, budget oversight, and activity compliance.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the regional team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field
- At least 7 years of field experience in enterprise development, youth programs, agribusiness, or market systems.
- Strong experience working with county governments, community groups, MSMEs, or cooperatives.
- Proven ability to manage teams, coordinate multiple counties, and deliver results.
- Strong facilitation, training, and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and manage dynamic field environments.
