Registered Nurse I (Specialized Nurse) - Critical Care
Reporting to the Facility –in- charge, the officer will: -
To provide specialized care to patients in the clinics/units.
Be responsible for monitoring the patients from the operating theatre and other relevant units.
Attend to the patients, making sure that they are adequately treated/cared for and followed up.
Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes.
Providing appropriate healthcare service including integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI), immunization, PMCTC, ante-natal care and delivery.
Providing health education and counselling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs.
Referring patients/clients appropriately.
Patients’ admissions and initiating discharge plans.
Maintain records on patients’/client’s health condition and care.
Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment.
Collecting and compiling data.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade candidate must have-:
Higher National Diploma in Nursing in specialized area from a recognized institution.
Diploma in any of the following disciplines-: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered
Nursing/midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya;
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
