Research Analyst at ACAL Consulting

What we are looking for

We are seeking a Research Analyst to provide secondary and primary research in support of proposals, client cases, and business or IP development initiatives, with specialization in the education sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering on a variety of requests and will connect with consulting and knowledge teams to refine/understand the scope, devise an appropriate approach; package and deliver on the organization's mandate.

Your mission

• Develop guidelines on surveys, data collection, and assessments needs
• Develops data collection plans and schedules
• Assumes lead responsibility for survey/ study/ assessment scheduling and logistics
• Plays a lead role in data collection training and pilot testing. Coordinates data collection to provide overall management of data collection teams to ensure survey/study operations follow protocols and stay on schedule. Troubleshoots and resolves emerging issues in consultation with stakeholders
• Responsible for the management of data from the point of field collection to the creation of analysis files. Manages electronic data entry (if needed).
• Oversees the data cleaning process and ensures that the survey files are prepared and cleaned according to the SOPs and that the data editing process is thoroughly documented. Prepares the final analysis file and its documentation.
• Responsible for providing organizational growth solutions across areas such as Institutional Surveys and Assessments; Trainings; Strategic Plan development and review; International Standards (ISMS, QMS) Support, Trainings, and Certifications; Programme Assessments and Evaluations
• Develop and implement Governance structures
• Set up a consulting unit within the organization
• Oversee for the overall quality, cost, time and contract management of all consulting efforts
• Conduct a needs survey across all target client institutions

What you need

• A university degree in social sciences, business or a related field
• Experience managing field/ consulting/ project teams
• At least 7 years' experience in management consulting
• Experience in offering management consulting solutions to large and public organizations across different sectors.
• Experience engaging in field research and data collection using statistical software or tools
• Expertise in handling large datasets
• Experience in fieldwork on data and monitoring activities
• Demonstrated knowledge in development planning/ action-oriented research in Kenya
